Six newborns have died in Gaza due to extreme cold and a lack of adequate shelter, as "Israel" continues to block the entry of mobile homes and tents despite agreements under the ceasefire, medical sources report.

According to the Ministry of Health in Gaza, five infants have died in the northern part of the enclave over the past two weeks, while another remains in critical condition receiving medical care.

Additionally, one newborn has died at Nasser Hospital, and two others are currently undergoing treatment.

Dr. Saeed Salah, medical director at the Patient's Friends Charitable Hospital in Gaza, told Anadolu Agency that the affected infants were between one and 15 days old, with weights not exceeding two kilograms, making them particularly vulnerable to the harsh winter conditions.

Salah emphasized that the dire situation is a direct result of "Israel’s" delays in allowing the entry of temporary shelters, including mobile homes and tents, which were stipulated in the ceasefire agreement.

Thousands of displaced families remain without adequate housing, further exacerbating the humanitarian crisis.

Doctors and humanitarian organizations are warning of an impending health catastrophe as freezing temperatures continue, particularly with the collapse of Gaza’s healthcare system and the widespread destruction of essential infrastructure.
