Hamas denies "Israeli" claims of releasing two corpses for Palestinian detainees

Hamas has denied "Israeli" allegations that it plans to release the bodies of two "Israeli" captives from Gaza in exchange for the release of half the number of Palestinian detainees as part of a prisoner swap agreement.

According to "Israeli" Channel 12, citing sources, Hamas intends to hand over the bodies of two captived "Israelis" to Egypt in return for "Israel" releasing half of the Palestinian detainees.

The channel reported that the process would take place in two phases: Israel would release Palestinian prisoners after receiving the bodies, and then Hamas would later hand over additional "Israeli" detainees to Egypt.

However, a senior official of Hamas, Mahmoud Mardawi, refuted these claims, asserting that there has been no change in the group's stance on the prisoner exchange.

He emphasized that "Israel" must fully comply with the original agreement, which requires the release of 600 Palestinian detainees before any further steps are taken.

Mardawi dismissed the reports about the imminent release of "Israeli" captive corpses, clarifying that the situation remains unchanged.

He stated that the responsibility now lies with "Israel" to fulfill its commitments under the agreed terms of the deal.
