Sharaa: Syria is nation of action, not lamentation
The National Dialogue Conference commenced in Syria, where Syrian President Ahmed Al-Sharaa delivered a powerful speech before the attendees.
In his remarks, Sharaa stated that “Syria has endured economic and political suffering under the rule of the Ba’ath Party and the Assad family,” noting that this period nearly drove the country to the brink of collapse.
He added in his urgent address, “The revolution came and saved Syria from ruin, but the challenges remain great,” stressing that “Syria has now returned to its people after being stolen in a moment of negligence.”
Sharaa continued, “We do not lament the past; we are a nation of action,” signaling his determination to move forward with reconstruction.
In his call for national unity, the president affirmed, “Syria has summoned you today to unite and consult on the future of your country and your nation,” emphasizing that “Syria is indivisible—it is one whole.”
He also addressed the current situation, saying, “We recognize that we are in a phase of rebuilding the state after all the destruction it has endured,” calling on everyone to join efforts in restoring Syria’s standing.
