The Ministry of Social Development has issued a statement confirming that it will not reinstate all beneficiaries of the White Beds Society Care Home for Seniors in Amman until all necessary procedures for appointing qualified staff are completed.

This is to ensure public safety and provide the highest quality of care for the beneficiaries.

The ministry clarified that most of the beneficiaries bear the full cost of their care at the home, as outlined in the memorandum of understanding signed with the association.

A statement released by the ministry on Sunday expressed surprise at the message from the White Beds Society Care Home's board of directors, published in the media, which claimed that the ministry had taken arbitrary actions preventing the full return of the beneficiaries.

The ministry rejected these claims and reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring the continued operation of the home and ongoing services to the beneficiaries.

The statement further explained that since the home ceased its services, the ministry has begun necessary repairs with support from the Royal Hashemite Court. The ministry has also requested that the association appoint qualified and adequate staff according to the licensing requirements for elderly care homes.

As a result, 45 beneficiaries who had been temporarily transferred to other care homes have been reinstated. However, the Elderly Society Care home has not yet completed the necessary steps to appoint the required staff and continues to delay hiring the personnel needed to meet the home’s capacity.
