"Israeli" forces order evacuation of Nur Shams Camp
"Israeli" forces on Wednesday ordered the immediate evacuation of residents from the Nur Shams refugee camp in the northern West Bank as military operations escalate.
According to the Palestinian News Agency (Wafa), eyewitnesses reported that "occupation forces stormed a mosque in the camp and used loudspeakers to call on residents to leave, as the camp has been under attack for the past four days."
The agency further stated that "Israeli" forces deployed military vehicles and foot patrols at the camp's entrances and alleyways, intensively firing live bullets and sound bombs to create fear and panic among the residents.
The camp has seen a wave of forced displacement due to random gunfire and occasional explosions since the start of the "Israeli" offensive.
Displaced residents described the situation as "extremely difficult, with homes and shops destroyed, streets leveled, and soldiers brutally raiding homes, breaking furniture, assaulting young men, expelling the elderly without letting them take basic items like clothing, and confiscating mobile phones."
The media office of the Nur Shams Camp Services Committee reported that "thousands of displaced people, including women, children, the elderly, and the sick, have fled the camp."
The ongoing military operation in the city of Tulkarm and its camps, including Nur Shams, has entered its 17th consecutive day, marked by widespread destruction of infrastructure, and property, arrests, and forced displacement affecting thousands of camp residents.
Earlier, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) reported that "Israeli" operations in the occupied West Bank have caused the forced displacement of 40,000 refugees from the Jenin, Tulkarm, Nur Shams, and Al-Far’a camps.
