Abu Obaida: Hamas to delay release of 'Israeli' captives over agreement violations
Abu Obaida, the military spokesperson for the Qassam Brigades, stated that the upcoming captive handover will be postponed.
In a statement on Telegram shared on Monday, he said: "Over the past three weeks, the resistance leadership has monitored the enemy’s violations and its failure to adhere to the agreement, including delays in the return of displaced people to northern Gaza, airstrikes and gunfire targeting them across the Gaza Strip, and the obstruction of humanitarian aid as agreed. Meanwhile, the resistance has honored all its commitments."
As a result, the release of "Israeli" captives, originally scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 15, 2025, will be postponed until further notice.
This decision will remain in effect until the occupation fulfills its commitments and compensates for its previous unfulfilled obligations.
"We reaffirm our commitment to the agreement as long as the occupation honors its obligations," the statement added.
