Lebanon's late Prime Minister, Rafic Hariri
Assad sister-in-law: Assad family, Hezbollah behind Hariri’s assassination
The secrets of Bashar Al-Assad’s regime continue to unfold, with the latest revelation coming from Majd Jadaan.
Jadaan is the sister of Maher Al-Assad’s wife, who left Syria in 2008 after a dispute with the regime. Her father, Wafiq Jadaan, was an opponent of Hafez al-Assad’s rule during the 1980s.
In an interview with Al Arabiya, Jadaan stated, “I am absolutely convinced that Hezbollah and the Assad family were behind the assassination of former Lebanese Prime Minister Rafic Hariri.”
She added, “Three months before Rafic Hariri’s assassination, mutual friends asked me to request a meeting between him and Maher and Bashar. Maher’s response was: ‘Who is this guy that I should meet him?’”
Jadaan described Hariri’s assassination as a “dangerous turning point inside Syria,” noting that the Syrian regime spread lies while being responsible for his killing in Lebanon.
