On Friday, gatherers commemorated the passing of the late King Hussein Bin Talal, may he rest in peace, and the ascension of King Abdullah II to the throne of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
Additionally, thousands gathered in Amman to participate in massive marches in support of King Abdullah II's stance on protecting the rights of the Palestinian people and rejecting any attempts to resolve the Palestinian issue or displace the Palestinian people in Gaza, the West Bank, and Jerusalem.
A large rally took place in Sweifieh, where participants raised Jordanian flags and wore red keffiyehs, chanting slogans affirming Jordan's identity and rejecting any projects that threaten the Palestinian cause.
Another rally occurred in downtown Amman, starting from the Al-Husseini Mosque, where thousands participated, shouting slogans that emphasized the unity of Jordanians behind the King’s decisions and his steadfast positions in support of the Palestinian people's right to self-determination until they achieve their legitimate rights and establish an independent Palestinian state on their national soil, based on the borders of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
His Majesty has firmly upheld the Hashemite custodianship over the Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem and has exerted every effort to support our people in Gaza in the face of brutal aggression. Today, he stands firm, backed by all his people, against plans for displacement.
Additionally, various cities and governorates across the kingdom held popular and syndical activities to reaffirm their support for King Abdullah II’s position in protecting the rights of the Palestinian people.
In light of the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and the West Bank, His Majesty has emphasized, during meetings with world leaders and through international organization platforms and speeches in international and Arab forums, the urgent need to take action to halt the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza and achieve the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.
Since the aggression on Gaza began, Jordan has demonstrated remarkable solidarity with our Palestinian brothers through its steadfast and unwavering positions and continuous support for the Palestinian people.
Jordan was the first country to break the blockade and deliver humanitarian, medical, and relief assistance to Gaza by land and air. A humanitarian air bridge was also launched to the sector in a significant humanitarian gesture of solidarity with the Palestinian people.
