Jordanians honor legacy of King Hussein on 26th Allegiance and Loyalty Day
On February 7, Jordanians commemorate the 26th anniversary of the Day of Loyalty and Allegiance, marking the passing of the late His Majesty King Hussein bin Talal, may he rest in peace, and the ascension of His Majesty King Abdullah II to the throne of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
On this day of loyalty to Hussein the "builder king", Jordanians reflect on a 47-year journey of achievements that saw advancements in infrastructure, education, and the economy, solidifying Jordan’s regional and international standing.
The path of progress and development continues under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II, built upon the deep-rooted Hashemite legacy and bolstered by modernization efforts across various sectors. His royal vision and initiatives have consistently emphasized the need to improve citizens' living standards through political, economic, and administrative development, despite regional and global challenges.
Marking last year’s 25th anniversary of the occasion, King Abdullah II stated: "Together, we have continued on the path of building modern Jordan, remaining faithful to Hussein's legacy, and with God's help, we will continue serving present and future generations."
Following in King Hussein’s footsteps, His Majesty King Abdullah II has remained steadfast in his commitment to Arab causes, particularly supporting Palestine and Jerusalem, utilizing Jordan’s resources and international relations to advocate for these issues.
Amid the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza and the West Bank, King Abdullah has called for urgent action to end the humanitarian catastrophe and reaffirmed his support for establishing an independent Palestinian state.
Jordan was the first country to break the siege on Gaza by sending humanitarian and medical aid via land and air, including launching an air bridge in solidarity with the Palestinian people.
Domestically, His Majesty has shown a strong commitment to youth, women, the elderly, and persons with disabilities while prioritizing judicial independence, fostering a free national economy, encouraging investment, and tackling poverty and unemployment as part of a comprehensive economic vision.
His reign has also witnessed significant progress in education, aligning with global developments and labor market needs.
In the military sector, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces places great importance on the Jordanian Armed Forces - Arab Army (JAF) and security agencies, ensuring their capability to protect the nation and its achievements.
