The Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) launched a large-scale raid and arrest campaign across various areas of the West Bank early Wednesday, including an incursion into Ramallah, where they stormed Al Jazeera’s office in the city center and extended its closure order for an additional 60 days.

The IOF entered Ramallah with several military vehicles, taking positions at Al-Manara Square before raiding Al Jazeera’s headquarters and posting an order extending the channel’s closure for another two months.

In May 2024, the Israeli Occupation government approved a proposal by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Communications Minister Shlomo Karhi to shut down Al Jazeera’s offices in the occupied territories for 45 days, with the decision taking immediate effect.

This comes as the Palestinian Authority (PA) decided in January to suspend Al Jazeera’s operations in Palestine, including halting its broadcast and temporarily shutting down its offices and staff activities.

Later, the Palestinian Ministry of Communications also ordered radio stations to stop airing Al Jazeera’s broadcasts.

The IOF continues its near-daily incursions into West Bank cities, carrying out arrests, field interrogations, home raids, and intimidation of residents. Reports indicate that the occupation currently holds over 10,000 Palestinian prisoners in its jails.
