Man arrested after attacking Ministry staff in Amman

The Public Security Directorate (PSD) reported that a complaint was received by Central Amman Police Directorate from the Ministry of Social Development, regarding a man who attacked employees and attempted to damage ministry property inside the building. Patrol units were immediately dispatched to the scene.

In a statement on Sunday, the PSD said that when officers attempted to apprehend the suspect—who has a criminal record—he resisted arrest.

“The necessary force was used to subdue and arrest him before transferring him to the police station for questioning in preparation for legal proceedings” – the statement said.

The incident resulted in one female employee sustaining injuries; her condition is reported to be stable.
