Hamas taunts "Israeli" forces with redesigned insignias
During the handover of captured Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) soldier Agam Berger in Jabalia, northern Gaza, Hamas showcased modified versions of IOF brigade insignias, aiming to mock the units involved in "Israel’s" war on Gaza.
The altered symbols were prominently displayed on a platform used for the transfer, according to Anadolu Agency.
The redesigned emblems included those of the Givati, Nahal, Kfir, and 401st Armored Brigades, all of which played key roles in military operations in northern Gaza.
A Hamas-designed version of the Givati Brigade’s fox emblem depicted the animal stabbed with a dagger, with the Hebrew phrase “Jabalia, the grave of Givati” inscribed above it. The Kfir Brigade’s dagger insignia was altered to show it piercing a soldier’s skull. Meanwhile, the Nahal Brigade’s wheat stalks were transformed into a sickle cutting down soldiers, and the 401st Armored Brigade’s symbol was adjusted to display a helmet with a skull inside.
These military units were involved in extensive operations in northern Gaza, resulting in large-scale destruction and significant Palestinian casualties. Hamas frequently uses symbolic messaging during captive transfers to send psychological signals to the "Israeli" public, ensuring its messages are widely understood by incorporating Hebrew text.
