Gaza Ministry of Interior prepares for return of displaced Palestinians
The Ministry of Interior in Gaza reported that it has completed preparations to facilitate the return of displaced persons from the south of the Strip to Gaza and the north, scheduled for Sunday, Jan. 26, 2025.
According to the ministry's statement, the coastal Al-Rasheed Street will be opened for pedestrians only in both directions, while vehicles will be allowed to return via Salah Al-Din Street heading north, where all vehicles will undergo security checks before being permitted to pass.
The ministry also confirmed that both Al-Rasheed and Salah Al-Din streets will be fully opened for pedestrians and vehicles on the 22nd day of the ceasefire agreement.
The Ministry of Interior expressed its support for the anticipated return of the displaced to their homes, assuring that its security agencies have been deployed across all governorates, including Gaza and North Gaza, to ensure the security of the process and provide the necessary support to returning residents.
