“Israel” admits it did not kill senior Hamas commander

The Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) acknowledged that it did not kill the commander of Hamas armed wing’s Beit Hanoun battalion, after previously declaring so back in May, 2024.

Footage on social media showed Hussein Fayyad alive and speaking at a funeral on Wednesday.

On May 24, the IOF said Fayyad was killed in a tunnel in Jabalia, north Gaza in a joint operation carried out by 98th Division and special forces of the Air Force and elite Yahalom Combat Engineering unit.

“After further examination, it emerged that the intelligence findings upon which the Intelligence Directorate and Shin Bet relied were not accurate enough,” the statement by the “Israeli” military spokesperson said, after the recent footage of Fayyad surfaced.
