Labor Minister: White card to replace temporary passport for Gaza residents' work permits
Labor Minister Dr. Khaled Al-Bakkar met on Thursday at the ministry's headquarters with the head and members of the Palestine Parliamentary Committee to discuss the demands of the Gaza Strip residents in Jordan.
Bakkar stated that the ministry's goal in implementing measures to regulate the labor market is to prepare a database to identify the needs of each sector for non-Jordanian labor, noting that the Ministry of Labor is committed to enforcing labor law provisions.
In the presence of representatives of the Gaza Strip community in Jordan, the minister announced that possible facilitations will be provided to Gaza residents, recognizing them as part of the national fabric and that the special white card for Gaza residents will be accepted for issuing work permits instead of temporary passports to ease their situation.
The minister emphasized that the ministry shares the parliamentary committee's commitment to helping Gaza residents in Jordan and alleviating their burdens.
He highlighted the political and diplomatic efforts and assistance provided by Jordan, under the leadership of King Abdullah II, as a means to support Palestinians, particularly the residents of the Gaza Strip.
Bakkar affirmed the importance of collaboration between the government and the House of Representatives, praising the council's responsible oversight role.
For his part, the head of the Palestine Parliamentary Committee, Suleiman Al-Saud, reviewed the demands of Gaza residents in Jordan, stressing the need to alleviate the suffering of Gazans in Jordan, especially regarding their presence in the labor market.
