According to a Washington Post report released Wednesday, Google has provided the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) with advanced AI tools since the early weeks of its Gaza aggression.

The report stated that this assistance involved granting access to Google's cutting-edge AI technologies, including the Vertex platform, which allows for machine learning model development.

The expedited support came after "Israel" expressed concerns that delays in access to these AI services could lead the IOF to seek alternatives, like Amazon, which also partners with “Israel” under the Nimbus cloud contract.

The Nimbus contract, established in 2021, aims to modernize “Israel’s” government systems with advanced cloud services, including those for the defense sector.

Despite Google’s claim that the contract is not intended for military use, internal documents reveal that employees worked to provide “Israel’s” military with AI tools like Gemini, designed to assist with document processing and complex data analysis.

According to the “Israeli” news outlet Yedioth Ahronoth, the IOF has integrated AI systems to identify and target threats based on satellite data, communications, and intelligence.

Google’s involvement has sparked internal protests. Over 50 employees were dismissed after raising concerns that the technology could be used for military activities that harm Palestinians.

Despite these objections, the company continued to support “Israel’s” military during the aggression.

In response, Google has reiterated its commitment to human rights, stating its technologies are not meant to cause harm.

However, senior officials in “Israel's” National Cyber Directorate highlighted the significant role the Nimbus cloud played in the aggression's outcomes according to Yedioth Ahronoth.
