Major operation launched in West Bank city; six killed already
The Palestinian health ministry said Tuesday that six Palestinians were killed in a major “Israeli” operation in the occupied West Bank's Jenin refugee camp.
The Ramallah-based ministry reported that 35 people were injured in the operation which “Israeli” Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu claimed it aimed to "eradicate terrorism" in the camp.
The operation was dubbed “Iron Wall” and is expected to last several days, according to Hebrew media reports.
Netnayahu said it is “another step in achieving the goal we set, strengthening security in Judea and Samaria.”
“We are operating in a systematic and decisive way against the Iranian axis wherever it sends its arms, in Gaza, Lebanon, Syria, Yemen, and Judea and Samaria,” Netanyahu said in a statement released by his office.
