The spokesperson for the Public Security Directorate (PSD) announced that the Cybercrime Unit has been monitoring posts on social media platforms and websites that “promote discord, incite divisions, and aim to harm national unity and societal cohesion in Jordan.”

The spokesperson said in a statement that the “Cybercrime unit has been actively tracking and documenting such content across all platforms and has apprehended several individuals responsible for these posts. Those arrested will be referred to the judiciary.”

He noted the detection of numerous fake accounts created specifically to spread "divisive content targeting components of Jordanian society." The public is urged not to engage with, follow, share, or comment on such content – per the statement.

The spokesperson emphasized a zero-tolerance policy toward anyone attempting to incite discord or undermine national unity.

“Legal measures will be taken against individuals engaging in such activities, which are rejected by Jordanian society and violate both customs and laws,” the statement concluded.
