Hamas response expected within 24 hours as Gaza talks enter final stretch

“Israel” and the mediators –Qatar, Egypt, and the United States– have on agreed on a draft for a Gaza prisoner exchange and ceasefire deal, and Hamas is expected to respond in less than 24 hours to the proposal, according to two senior “Israeli” officials and an additional source familiar with the matter cited by Axios.

An unnamed “Israeli” official said that the person who will make the decision is the leader of Hamas’ military win in Gaza, Mohammad Sinwar, brother of the late former Hamas chief Yahya Sinwar.

"It seems that we are headed for a deal. Israel has been very flexible in recent days on a number of issues, but we are awaiting Hamas' response and only then will we know for sure," an official said, according to Axios’ report.
