Snow in Jordan soon? Meteorological Department answers

Raaed Al-Khattab, Director of the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD), dismissed rumors circulating on social media platforms about snowstorms or heavy snowfall expected during the second third of January.

Al-Khattab clarified that the upcoming week may see typical rainfall toward the end of the month’s second third, but there are no signs of extraordinary weather developments.

He emphasized the importance of relying solely on official weather reports by the JMD, warning that exaggerated weather claims often aim to attract attention or serve commercial purposes.

The department urged the public to obtain weather information exclusively from official sources to avoid misinformation and unnecessary panic.
