The Lebanese Parliament convened on Thursday to elect a new president.

This session aims to end a presidential vacancy that has persisted for over two years, exacerbating Lebanon's political and economic crises.

Joseph Aoun is expected to be elected as president, backed by international and regional support, according to Lebanese officials. This agreement comes amid heightened political tensions, particularly following the recent aggression between the Israeli Occupation and Hezbollah.
