Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ayman Safadi is set to host a high-ranking Syrian delegation on Tuesday, led by Foreign Minister Asaad Al-Shaybani. The visit aims to discuss key bilateral issues and culminate in a joint press conference between the two officials.

Safadi’s engagement with Syria follows his recent visit to Damascus, where he met Ahmed Al-Sharaa, head of the new Syrian administration. During that visit, Safadi reaffirmed Jordan’s commitment to supporting Syria’s reconstruction efforts and helping its people achieve stability.

Earlier today in Ankara, Safadi held a joint press conference with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan. Highlighting regional cooperation, Safadi stated, "Jordan and Turkey are uniquely positioned to address shared challenges and must play a leading role in the region."

He emphasized that his visit to Syria, under royal directives, demonstrated Jordan's solidarity with the Syrian people in their quest for rights and aspirations.

Safadi also underscored Jordan’s dedication to ensuring the dignity and stability of all Syrians, including the Kurdish population, as part of broader efforts to secure their rights and meet essential needs.

Meanwhile, Shaybani’s regional diplomatic tour began in Qatar on Sunday. Accompanied by Syrian Defense Minister Murhaf Abu Qasra and Intelligence Chief Anas Khattab, Shaybani’s visit marks his first official engagement with Qatari officials to explore avenues of cooperation. He held discussions with key figures, including Minister of State at the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Al-Khulaifi.

Ahead of his tour, Shaybani shared his aspirations on the X, stating, “I will represent Syria in official visits to Qatar, the UAE, and Jordan. We aim to foster stability, security, economic recovery, and robust partnerships through these engagements.”

In preparation for Tuesday’s meeting, Safadi and Al-Shibani spoke by phone last Friday, reviewing recent developments in Syria and exploring collaborative approaches to the challenges of Syria’s transitional phase.
