Jordan weather forecast: Heavy rain, thunderstorms expected
The Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) reported that eastern parts of the country will continue to experience unstable weather conditions on Monday, with scattered showers expected. Some of these showers may be heavy at times, accompanied by thunderstorms and hail.
Rainfall may also extend into the central-eastern regions during the morning hours. In other areas, relatively cold and partly cloudy weather will prevail.
By evening, conditions are expected to gradually stabilize, with clouds decreasing overnight. The weather will turn very cold across most regions, while remaining cold in the Jordan Valley, Dead Sea, and Aqaba, with low clouds and moderate northeasterly winds.
Rapid development of storm clouds
According to the latest satellite imagery from ArabiaWeather, storm clouds are rapidly developing across several areas in Jordan. These include parts of Amman, particularly its southern districts, Madaba, areas surrounding Wadi Mujib and the Dead Sea, as well as various parts of Karak and Tafileh, including Ghor Al-Safi and Ghor Fifa.
Flood warnings issued
Warnings were issued about the erratic nature of these weather conditions, particularly in the eastern and southern desert regions. Areas such as Al-Qatranah, Dhiban, Al-Zamilah, and their surroundings are at risk of flash flooding. Residents are urged to exercise caution.
