Saudi FM meets with Syrian counterpart in Riyadh

Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan welcomed his Syrian counterpart, Asaad al-Shaibani, at the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Riyadh.

Al-Shaibani emphasized Syria's commitment to building relations that honor the nations' shared history, expressing hope for a new and prosperous chapter in ties with Saudi Arabia.

In a post on X, al-Shaibani wrote, “I have just arrived in Saudi Arabia alongside Defense Minister Marhaf Abu Qasrah and Intelligence Chief Anas Khattab.”

Earlier, Deputy Foreign Minister Waleed bin Abdulkarim al-Khuraiji also received the Syrian delegation ahead of their meeting with Prince Faisal.

The visit aims to boost dialogue and cooperation to promote regional stability and explore ways to strengthen bilateral relations and joint efforts for security and peace.

Defense Talks Highlight Regional Security

Saudi Defense Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman also held talks with the Syrian delegation, reaffirming the Kingdom’s support for efforts to achieve stability in Syria.

Prince Khalid stressed the importance of advancing the political transition process to ensure Syria’s unity and security.

“It is time for Syria to achieve stability, rise, and benefit from its resources—especially its people,” Prince Khalid said, underscoring the value of collaboration for a better future in the region.
