Syrian authorities pursue war criminals in Homs
The Syrian Ministry of Interior, in collaboration with the Military Operations Directorate, launched a large-scale security operation in Homs, targeting war criminals and individuals implicated in crimes who have refused to surrender their weapons or engage with reconciliation centers.
According to the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA), the Ministry urged residents of the Wadi Al-Dhahab and Akrama neighborhoods to remain indoors and avoid unnecessary movement. Authorities called for full cooperation with security forces until the operation concluded or further instructions were issued.
An official stated that the mission aims to apprehend wanted individuals and confiscate hidden weapons and ammunition, emphasizing the operation’s focus on enhancing public safety and restoring order.
This follows a similar campaign conducted last week in areas around Damascus, including Qudssaya, Al-Hamah, Jabal Al-Ward, and Hay Al-Wurood. That initiative sought to seize illegal arms and address elements causing unrest, reinforcing efforts to prevent further security breaches in the region.
