Jordanian army foils drone-smuggling attempts on western border
Jordanian Southern Command successfully thwarted multiple attempts to smuggle narcotics using drones along its western border on Tuesday evening, according to an official military source.
A spokesperson from the Jordanian Armed Forces - Arab Army stated, "Border guards in the Southern Military Region, in coordination with military security agencies and the Anti-Narcotics Department, intercepted five drone-smuggling attempts. The drones, attempting to cross the border illegally, were brought down using established rules of engagement, and their cargo was confiscated inside Jordanian territory."
The seized narcotics were transferred to the relevant authorities for further investigation and legal action.
The official emphasized that the Jordanian Armed Forces remain committed to safeguarding the nation's security and protecting its citizens from the dangers of drug trafficking.
"The Armed Forces will continue to act with strength and determination to prevent these substances from reaching our communities and compromising Jordan's national security," the source added.
