Sara Netanyahu faces investigation over witness harassment claims
Israeli Occupation authorities are preparing to investigate Sara Netanyahu, the wife of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, over allegations of “obstructing justice,” according to reports from "Israeli" media.
The Israeli Public Broadcasting Corporation revealed that police are planning to question Sara Netanyahu about accusations of harassing a witness and interfering with judicial proceedings.
These allegations stem from an investigative report aired on Channel 12's program Uvda, which presented claims that Sara Netanyahu was involved in coordinating protests against Liat Ben-Ari, the prosecutor in her husband’s corruption trial, and Hadas Klein, a key witness in the case.
Following the broadcast, Attorney General Amit Aisman and legal adviser Gali Baharav-Miara announced late Thursday that police have been directed to pursue an investigation. Sara Netanyahu may be summoned for questioning or asked to provide testimony in the case.
The decision sparked backlash within the Israeli Occupation government. Justice Minister Yariv Levin, National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, and Knesset Speaker Amir Ohana criticized Baharav-Miara, accusing her of using the legal system for political purposes. They described the move as a “crime” and an example of selective law enforcement.
This development comes as Benjamin Netanyahu continues to face legal troubles of his own. On Tuesday, the prime minister appeared in court for the sixth time to respond to charges of bribery, fraud, and breach of trust.
