Will Jordan resume flights to Syria? Civil aviation authority chief answers
Captain Haitham Misto, Chief Commissioner of the Jordan’s Civil Aviation Regulatory Commission (CARC), addressed the resumption of flights to Syria, saying that the decision hinges on meeting international aviation safety and security requirements.
In remarks reported by Jordan News Agency (Petra), Misto explained that while domestic aviation requirements differ from those for international flights, Damascus International Airport must demonstrate full readiness to handle international operations before Jordanian airlines can be authorized to resume flights to the Syrian capital.
He stressed that international aviation standards are universally applied to all airports worldwide without exception. These include logistical, technical, and airspace safety requirements aimed at ensuring secure and safe air travel.
