White House: Gaza ceasefire agreement nearing completion
White House announced Tuesday that Washington is close to brokering a ceasefire agreement in Gaza.
John Kirby, White House spokesperson, stated that US officials believe both "Israeli" and Hamas representatives are nearing a deal to halt hostilities in Gaza.

“We remain cautiously optimistic,” Kirby said, adding, “We’ve been at this point before but have yet to cross the finish line.”
Meanwhile, Hamas affirmed that serious and positive discussions are taking place in Doha under the auspices of Qatari and Egyptian mediators. The group emphasized that reaching an agreement on a ceasefire and a prisoner exchange is possible if the occupation refrains from imposing new conditions.
