Gazan man Sheikh Khaled Nabhan, popularly known as "Abu Diaa" and recognized for his popular phrase on social media "Soul of the Soul," was killed in an “Israeli” airstrike targeting the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza, according to the Palestinian Media Center.

Abu Diaa gained widespread recognition during the war on Gaza after a heart-wrenching video showed him mourning his granddaughter, Reem, who was killed alongside her brother Tariq in an “Israeli” airstrike.

In the viral footage, Khaled embraced Reem's body, affectionately stroking her hair and repeatedly calling her "Rooh al-Rooh" ("Soul of the Soul"), a phrase that resonated deeply with social media audiences and went viral online.

A resident of Gaza's Nuseirat refugee camp, Abu Diaa remained steadfast despite relentless bombardments and “Israeli” calls for evacuations. He publicly expressed his determination to stay in his home, calling on global leaders and organizations to address the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

His emotional appeals, particularly during interviews with many news outlets, highlighted the plight of ordinary Palestinians under siege and garnered sympathy for the war’s impact on the families in the Gaza Strip.
