"Israel to close embassy in Ireland," says 'Israeli' Foreign Minister
"Israeli" Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar announced the closure of "Israel's" embassy in Ireland today, attributing the decision to the Irish government's "extreme anti-Israel policies," Israel Hayom reported.
This move comes as relations between the two countries have reached a new low, Sa'ar citing that Ireland's recent actions exacerbated the situation, including its unilateral recognition of a Palestinian state and its participation in South Africa's case against "Israel" at the International Court of Justice (ICJ), which accuses the occupation of genocide.
Sa'ar expressed his discontent with Ireland's stance, stating, "Ireland's antisemitic actions and rhetoric against Israel are rooted in delegitimization and demonization of the Jewish state and reflect clear double standards."
He emphasized that "Ireland has crossed all red lines in its treatment of Israel," leading "Israel" to redirect its diplomatic efforts toward nations that maintain a "more favorable" relationship with the occupation.
