The “Israeli” assault on the Gaza Strip has reached its 437th day, with intensified attacks on various areas of the strip. Strikes on displacement shelters and schools have left dozens dead and injured, including children.

Schools and shelters targeted

The spokesperson for Gaza’s Civil Defense reported that “Israeli” forces conducted a series of airstrikes over the past 24 hours, targeting four schools sheltering displaced civilians. These attacks resulted in the deaths of more than 50 people.

In northwestern Nuseirat, “Israeli” forces demolished residential buildings, while another airstrike on a school housing displaced families in Yafa Street, northeast of Gaza City, caused additional casualties. A shelter tent for displaced persons in Khan Younis was also struck, resulting in further fatalities.

Resistance operations

In response, Saraya al-Quds, the armed wing of Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ), announced that its fighters successfully detonated three pre-planted explosive devices targeting “Israeli” military vehicles advancing in the Shujaiya neighborhood, east of Gaza City.

Medical sources confirmed that since early Sunday, “Israeli” airstrikes have claimed the lives of 69 individuals. The director of field hospitals at Gaza’s Ministry of Health stated that schools serving as shelters were among the sites targeted, causing dozens of deaths.

Casualties in Nuseirat

Local media reported an airstrike on a home in Nuseirat Refugee Camp in central Gaza, which killed five people, including children.

Developments in prisoner exchange talks

In a separate development, US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan told “Israel’s” Channel 13 that significant progress had been made in prisoner exchange negotiations, suggesting that a deal could be finalized soon.
