Three suspects with ties to regional gangs arrested
The Public Security Directorate (PSD) reported that the Anti-Narcotics Department intensified its efforts to combat drug trafficking and distribution across Jordan.
In a series of operations over the past few days, authorities have dealt with 11 cases that resulted in the arrest of 46 individuals and the seizure of substantial quantities of narcotics and firearms.
One of the most notable operations involved a special security force that targeted three individuals deemed dangerous and linked to regional drug trafficking gangs in Manshiyat Al-Ghayath in the northern Badiah. The suspects were apprehended, and authorities seized firearms along with various narcotics.
In the Aqaba Governorate, a focused security campaign led to the arrest of nine suspects involved in drug smuggling and trafficking, resulting in the seizure of 12kg of marijuana.
In the northern Badia region, three drug traffickers were captured while transporting and dealing narcotics. After gathering intelligence, the authorities identified a location where drugs were stored inside a residential property. A search of the premises yielded 85 bundles of hashish and a firearm.
In the Irbid Governorate, two significant cases unfolded. The first involved a raid on a criminal cell comprising three individuals who were storing and distributing large quantities of narcotics in the city.
The suspects were arrested, and authorities confiscated 9 bundles of hashish, 6,000 narcotic pills, and 200 grams of crystal meth. In another case, two dealers were apprehended at a residence used for their illicit activities, with authorities seizing 1kg of crystal meth, a quantity of narcotic pills, and three firearms.
A campaign targeting drug dealers and wanted individuals in the Ramtha district led to the arrest of five suspects, including two classified as high-risk, with various quantities of narcotics seized from their possession.
In the Mafraq Governorate, two drug dealers were arrested after a thorough surveillance operation confirmed they were transporting narcotics in a vehicle. Ambushes were set along their route, and upon stopping the vehicle, authorities discovered 17,000 narcotic pills concealed within.
In Amman, two significant cases were reported. The first involved the arrest of three dealers during a raid on their operations in a residential area, where 4,500 narcotic pills, 100g of crystal meth, and a firearm were seized.
In a separate operation east of the capital, authorities raided a hideout used by dealers for storing and selling narcotics, arresting five individuals and confiscating 300g of crystal meth, 100g of cocaine, and various other narcotic substances.
Furthermore, an extensive security operation in eastern areas of the capital resulted in the arrest of ten suspects linked to drug trafficking, with significant quantities of narcotics seized.
Lastly, in the Karak Governorate, authorities tracked down and arrested a dangerous individual wanted for drug offenses, seizing a quantity of crystal meth from his possession.
