Safadi stresses UN, Arab League roles in aiding Syria
The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Ayman Al-Safadi, reaffirmed the consensus to stand with the Syrian people in launching an inclusive political process.
Safadi reiterated the importance of the role of the UN and the Arab League in supporting the Syrian people.
He condemned the Israeli Occupation's encroachment in Syrian territory and the airstrikes, calling on Tel Aviv to retreat and withdraw from the Golan Heights.
He also emphasized support for the continuity of Syria's official state institutions, stating that "we do not want Syria to plunge into chaos."
The EU's High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security, Josep Borrell, emphasized the importance of the integrity of Syrian territory, the unity of the Syrian people, and the establishment of a state based on institutions and the rule of law.
Meanwhile, Safadi mentioned, "We are dealing with a brutal aggression in Gaza and an unprecedented humanitarian disaster. We want to stop the aggression and ensure aid delivery."
