Blinken stresses importance of countering Daesh resurgence in Syria

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken emphasized to Turkey on Friday the importance of countering the resurgence of terrorist group Daesh in Syria after the fall of the Assad regime.

In a press conference with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan in Ankara, Blinken stated that Washington is working diligently to ensure the defeat of Daesh and prevent the return of the threat.

He also mentioned encouraging signs for a potential ceasefire in Gaza.
