“Israel” warns State of Lebanon with direct military action
“Israeli” Defense Minister Israel Katz directly threatened Tuesday that if the ceasefire reached last week collapses, “Israel” will penetrate deeper into Lebanon and will no longer differentiate between the Lebanese army and Hezbollah.
"If we return to war, we will act with greater force and penetrate deeper and... there will be no immunity for the state of Lebanon," Katz said during a tour of the northern border, after the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) launched a wave of airstrikes across Lebanon yesterday.
“Until now, we made a distinction between Lebanon and Hezbollah... it will no longer be the case,” he added.
“Yesterday was the first test, [Hezbollah] shooting at Mount Dov. We reacted strongly and this is exactly what we will do, and we will not allow Hezbollah to return to the old methods they had, such as the tent that was set up [by Hezbollah on the border several years ago] and not attacked.”
“If they don’t do it and this whole agreement collapses then the reality will be very clear. First of all, If we return to war, we will act with greater force and penetrate deeper and... there will be no immunity for the state of Lebanon,” he continues.
Yesterday, Hezbollah said in a statement that it carried out a “warning strike” by firing mortar shells at “Israeli” military positions in the Occupied Shebaa Farms, saying it is a response to multiple “Israeli” violations of the truce agreement, which included direct gunfire at civilians, airstrikes across various parts of Lebanon, and breaches of country’s airspace.
