Man sentenced to death for stabbing mother 40 times in Karak

The Grand Criminal Court issued a ruling sentencing a twenty-something-year-old man to death by hanging for murdering his mother, who was in her sixties, in Karak.

In July, Roya reported details of a woman who was stabbed 40 times by her son inside their family home in Karak Governorate.

The defendant took advantage of being alone with her to commit his crime. The screams of the woman were heard as she tried to stop her son, who was stabbing her with a "horned knife," which led neighbors to discover the crime. The victim was found bleeding, while her son fled the scene after committing the act.

Forensic doctors found the body had 40 stab wounds to the head, neck, chest, and limbs, attributing the cause of death to blood loss resulting from injuries to the chest cavity from the penetrating stab wounds.
