“Israeli” Minister of National Security Itamar Ben Gvir announced that the mosques will be barred from broadcasting using loudspeakers the “Adhan” – the Islamic call to prayer.

According to a report by Hebrew channel 12, the new policy will allow the “Israeli” police to enter the mosques and confiscate loudspeaker equipment if they are used to broadcast the Adhan.

Mosques which breach the new ban will also be fined.

Ben Gvir said on his X account that he is “proud” of the decision to stop “unreasonable noises from mosques, which have become a hazard for the residents of Israel.”

Arab members of the Knesset and other "Israeli" opposition members condemned the decision, with Hadash-Ta’al MK Ahmad Tibi saying that Ben Gvir “builds his base on hatred and persecution of Arabs,” and that Netanyahu “bears responsibility for the pyromaniac minister’s rampage.”

In response, Ben Gvir said to Ahmad Tibi “do not threaten the State of Israel with violence” despite Tibi’s remarks not having any notion of violence.
