Jordan experienced freezing temperatures and widespread frost early Wednesday, particularly in the southern highlands and eastern plains, as a Siberian cold front maintained its grip on the region.

According to the latest weather maps, the intensity of the cold wave is expected to ease gradually starting Thursday and into the weekend.

However, temperatures will remain below seasonal averages, keeping conditions cold, especially in mountainous areas and the eastern plains during nighttime and early morning hours.

Thursday outlook

Temperatures are forecast to rise slightly on Thursday but will still range 2 to 4 degrees Celsius below average. The weather will be relatively cold in most areas, with milder conditions in lower-lying regions. Low-level clouds are expected to linger in some areas.

Cold nights ahead

In the coming days, nighttime temperatures will remain unusually low for this time of year and colder than they were before the Siberian front. Frost formation is likely to persist in the southern highlands and eastern plains, particularly during the early morning hours – per ArabiaWeather.

Residents are advised to take precautions against frost, especially in agricultural regions and areas prone to freezing.
