Putin highlights Russia's hypersonic missile capabilities
Russian President Vladimir Putin emphasized the precision of the "Orishnik" hypersonic missile during a meeting with defense officials and the military-industrial complex, clarifying that it is not a weapon of mass destruction.
Putin described the missile as a state-of-the-art technological development, distinct from upgrades to older Russian missile systems. He noted its creation as a product of modern Russian expertise, underscoring its significance in strengthening Russia’s defense capabilities.
Putin also stressed the missile's role in maintaining Russia's technological superiority, stating it provides additional guarantees for the nation's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The president revealed that successful tests of the missile had been conducted, including a strike on a factory in Dnipro, Ukraine. He confirmed that the missile used was non-nuclear and framed the tests as a response to NATO's "aggressive actions" against Russia.
