Leaked draft reveals possible ceasefire agreement in Lebanon
Hebrew media outlets have reported leaks of a draft ceasefire agreement in Lebanon, outlining significant terms, including the withdrawal of the 'Israeli' army and the implementation of UN resolutions.
Channel 13 revealed that the agreement grants the 'Israeli' military up to 60 days to fully withdraw from southern Lebanon once the ceasefire is enacted.
Both parties are expected to adhere to UN Security Council Resolutions 1559 and 1701, which include dismantling the military infrastructure of Lebanese armed factions, including Hezbollah.
The draft also includes an additional annex between 'Israel' and the United States, ensuring 'Israel's' freedom to conduct military operations in response to immediate threats.
The agreement paves the way for indirect negotiations on delineating land borders, under US supervision and with international backing.
Other provisions stipulate the deployment of the Lebanese army at all land and sea crossings, the formation of a US-led special committee to oversee the agreement's implementation, address potential violations, and dismantle Hezbollah-related infrastructure.
