Following the recent successes of the national football team, Jordanian citizens are calling on the government to build a new football stadium that meets international specifications.

Social media platforms have seen an outpouring of support, with users sharing AI-generated designs for a proposed stadium that would elevate Jordan’s sporting infrastructure.

The demand for a world-class facility grew as the national team’s achievements continued to inspire pride and excitement across the country.

Former Minister of Youth, Mohammad Al-Nabulsi, has been vocal about the country’s need for a modern stadium capable of hosting international tournaments. He emphasized that the current Amman International Stadium does not meet the capacity requirements for large-scale events and that Jordan requires a new, larger venue with global standards.

In a recent statement, Nabulsi pointed out that constructing such a stadium would require significant financial backing and investment. He revealed that the Ministry of Youth is actively seeking local and international investors to help fund the project in partnership with the Jordan Football Association (JFA) and FIFA.

However, Nabulsi acknowledged the financial limitations of the Ministry of Youth, which have hindered the development of large-scale projects such as the construction of major stadiums. Despite this, he highlighted that the ministry oversees five integrated sports cities across the Kingdom, with three new sports cities set to have tenders announced in the near future.

Nabulsi also clarified that the Al-Qweismeh Stadium, another prominent venue in Amman, is not under the Ministry of Youth’s oversight but is managed by the Greater Amman Municipality (GAM). He assured that the stadium would be operational again soon after the completion of ongoing renovation work.
