Man charged with murder after killing brother in family dispute in Karak
The Public Prosecutor of the Grand Criminal Court has charged a man with premeditated murder after he killed his brother during a family dispute in Karak last Sunday.
The prosecutor ordered the suspect to be detained for 15 days, subject to renewal, pending further investigation.
According to a source familiar with the investigation, the suspect used a "pump-action" firearm during the altercation, which was triggered by family disagreements. The man fired at the group, hitting his brother with shotgun pellets, causing his death.
A forensic autopsy revealed that the victim suffered from severe bleeding caused by shotgun pellets in the left side of his chest and abdomen, leading to his death.
The accused faces a life sentence if convicted under Jordanian criminal law.
