French Member of Parliament David Guiraud has voiced strong criticism against President Emmanuel Macron for hosting a football match involving the 'Israeli' national team.

The match, which was scheduled amid ongoing aggression in Gaza, sparked outrage from Guiraud, who accused Macron of supporting a state responsible for committing atrocities.

"Don’t forget, as you applaud the team representing a state that commits genocide, that there are no football fields left in Gaza," Guiraud remarked.

"The Israeli team might be playing football on the field, but in Gaza, they’re shooting at the chests of children. In Palestine, as in Lebanon, airstrikes are killing innocent people," he added, drawing attention to the severe humanitarian crisis in the region.

Guiraud’s comments come in the wake of heightened tensions and escalating violence, particularly in Gaza, where the 'Israeli' military has been conducting airstrikes. His remarks highlighted the stark contrast between the sports event and the devastating situation on the ground for Palestinians.

Confrontation with French Interior Minister

Additionally, Guiraud confronted the French Interior Minister over the recent arrest of two French security officers by 'Israeli' police in Jerusalem. The incident, which occurred during the officers' deployment in occupied Palestine, has been met with limited public response from French officials.

"You, who are usually quick to respond and speak out, were noticeably silent when French gendarmes were detained by Israeli police in occupied Palestine," Guiraud told the minister, calling out what he viewed as a lack of assertiveness in defending French nationals abroad.

French MP's statements reflect growing discontent among some political figures in France regarding the government's approach to Israeli Occupation and its handling of issues related to the ongoing aggression in Palestine.
