Iranian ambassador’s first appearance after injury in Lebanon pager explosions
Mojtaba Amani, the ambassador of Iran to Lebanon, has made his first public appearance since being injured in the September Hezbollah pager explosions.
At the time, it was reported that Amani was killed in the attack; but later reports said he lost his eye and injured his hand. Amani was transported afterwards to Tehran to undergo treatment.
The pictures showed Amani with visible wounds in his left eye, while his left hand also bandaged and his fingers -seemingly- amputated.
In the meeting, he met with Abbas Araghchi, Iran’s Foreign Minister, before being sent back to his mission in Lebanon – Mehr news agency reported.
Araghchi emphasized to Amani the necessity of taking all the necessary measures and using political and international facilities to immediately stop the crimes of the Zionist regime against Lebanon.
Mehr added that he presented to Amani the “necessary instructions for the upcoming period”.
