Arab, Islamic delegations in Riyadh for Saudi-held emergency summit

On Monday, delegations from Arab and Islamic nations are arriving in Riyadh for an emergency summit convened by Saudi Arabia to discuss the escalating situations in Gaza and Lebanon.

This summit follows the joint Arab-Islamic summit held in Riyadh on Nov. 11, 2023, and comes in line with directives from King Salman bin Abdulaziz, with continued coordination efforts from Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

Saudi Arabia emphasized that the summit is a response to the ongoing Israeli Occupation aggression against Gaza and the volatile situation on the Lebanon front, signaling a continued commitment to addressing these regional crises.

- Jordan's King Abdullah II -

At the Extraordinary Arab and Islamic Summit in Riyadh, King Abdullah II of Jordan called for immediate international action to halt Israeli aggression in Gaza and the West Bank. He stressed the need for firm global action to prevent further escalation and highlighted the importance of supporting Palestinian statehood and Lebanon's sovereignty.

- Saudi Crown Prince -

Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman condemned Israeli actions and reaffirmed Saudi support for the Palestinian people. He emphasized the need for an independent Palestinian state and urged international efforts to end the violence, protect Lebanon's sovereignty, and address the growing humanitarian crisis in the region.

- Egypt's Sisi -

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi condemned Israel's ongoing aggression as a "systematic killing campaign" against civilians, especially in Gaza. He called for a two-state solution, with an independent Palestinian state based on 1967 borders and Jerusalem as its capital, while reaffirming Egypt's commitment to peace and opposing efforts to undermine the Palestinian cause.
