Earlier this Week, fans of French club Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) raised a giant banner at a UEFA Champions League game against Atletico Madrid.
In response, the French Interior Minister Bruno Retailleau said it was “unacceptable”.
When asked if the team would face any sanctions for their pro-Palestine act, Retailleau told Sud Radio: “I am not ruling out anything. I will demand explanations from PSG.”
The act of solidarity comes days before France is set to face “Israel” in a UEFA Nations League game on Nov. 14 in Stade de France.
The banner showed the Dome of the Rock in front of Palestinian flag, with a masked man wearing a Keffiyeh raising his hand. It also showed the full map of Palestine, along with the Lebanese flag.
