Gallant: Staying in Gaza driven by desire, not security, politics
Ousted "Israeli" Defense Minister Yoav Gallant stated that he sees no security rationale for remaining in the Philadelphi Corridor, asserting that it no longer serves "Israel's" defense needs.
In an interview with "Israeli" Channel 12, Gallant remarked, "The Chief of Staff and I have confirmed that there is no security reason to remain in the Philadelphi Corridor."
While Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu believes there is a political value to staying in the area, Gallant disagreed, stating, "From my perspective, there is no political importance to it."
Gallant also emphasized that "Israel" has accomplished its primary objectives in Gaza, noting there is nothing more to achieve there. He concluded by expressing concern that the continued presence might stem from a mere "desire to stay."
