Why does 'Israel' prefer Donald Trump as US president

'Israeli' Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has expressed his hope for Donald Trump’s victory in the upcoming US elections and his return to the White House.

A report by Yedioth Ahronoth said that Netanyahu spoke in private conversations about how the Democratic administrations, including the current one, have worked behind the scenes to undermine him. Despite his desire for Trump’s victory, the report notes that Netanyahu should be cautious about what he wishes for. Trump, a highly unpredictable figure, could pose greater challenges than his Democratic rival, Kamala Harris.

With Trump’s victory, his second and final term would give him more freedom to act without pressure or obligations, potentially pursuing his own interests. For instance, he may not face the same pressure from pro-Israeli Occupation evangelicals as he did during his first term. Trump might also seek to revive the "Deal of the Century," which includes the creation of a Palestinian state and the normalization of relations with Saudi Arabia. The proposed plan outlines two states, with 70% of the West Bank and 100% of Gaza remaining under Palestinian control. Trump could push for peace in hopes of earning a Nobel Prize and might not hesitate to pressure Netanyahu to achieve this.

On the Iranian issue, Trump is expected to take a tougher stance against Iran and offer greater support to "Israel." In other areas, he may be more responsive to "Israeli" interests, such as facilitating Israeli Occupation-requested amendments to UN Resolution 1701 to push Hezbollah further from "Israeli" borders.

Regardless of the outcome of the US election, "Israel" is entering a sensitive period, spanning from the day after the election to the inauguration of the new president on January 20, 2025. Outgoing President Joe Biden is expected to focus on stabilizing the Middle East and working to end the war while securing the release of "Israeli" captives in Gaza.

Trump is expected to appoint pro-Israeli Occupation figures, such as Mike Pompeo, who could serve as Secretary of State or Defense. Former US Ambassador to "Israel", David Friedman, is also a strong candidate for a prominent role, possibly as Secretary of State. Other potential appointees include Marco Rubio and Nikki Haley, both staunch Israeli Occupation supporters.

While Jared Kushner and Jason Greenblatt are not expected to return to official positions, they are likely to continue advising Trump. Additionally, Netanyahu can count on the support of pro-Israeli Occupation Senators like Lindsey Graham to influence Trump’s policies in favor of Israeli Occupation.
