After “Israel’s” limited attack on Iran, which it claimed was a “success” – sources privy to the matter revealed to Axios whether “Israel” notified Iran ahead of its retaliatory overnight strikes.

The sources say that “Israel” sent a message to Iran on Friday notifying them of the attack, with the purpose of warning them not to respond.

One other source said the message was delivered to Iran through several channels, one of them was the Dutch Foreign Minister Caspar Veldcamp.

The aim of the message was to limit the tit-for-tat attacks between the two and prevent wider escalation.

"The Israelis made it clear to the Iranians in advance what they are going to attack in general and what they are not going to attack," one source told Axios.

“Israel” also communicated to Iran that if it does respond to Saturday’s attack, it would conduct a larger and more significant attack.

Earlier, the Iranian Army has issued a statement revealing the death toll of the overnight “Israeli” attack on its territory.

“The army of the Islamic Republic of Iran sacrificed two of its soldiers last night while confronting the projectiles of the criminal Zionist regime,” it said in a statement, cited by Tasnim News Agency.

The statement said that the two soldiers were “martyred in order to defend Iran's security and prevent harm to the nation and interests of Iran,” adding that additional information will be released soon.
